A French singlespeeder visits the Dales ….

The start is at 9:30 am, behind a car and then we drop everyone at the foot of the first mountain, Ingleborough. It goes quickly, we want to position ourselves because the ranking is already played pretty much at this place (it’s a real race, we did not come to mushrooms). On my singlespeed in 34 × 16 I do a little hamster on the road but it still goes well. There is no need to put a ratio too small, you wear your bike fast enough: it climbs hard, up to 55% in the famous Simon Fell! You can grip the ground
