Would I do it again? I’m not sure, for a long bike race there is very little actual bike riding, but it’s a fantastic challenge.
I wish I’d given a bit more on a few of these descents, but seeing the aftermaths of these crashes reminded me that there can be a fine line between making up time and a DNF. The loose gravel descent also meant I only just stopped in time to get out of the way of the Mountain Rescue Land Rover on its way to assess one of the casualties. That could have been embarrassing.
That sounds to me like he wants to come back and do better. Yes?
