Three Peaks Cyclocross Blog

A personal blog and pointer to all I find on the www about the 3 Peaks Cyclocross

A course recce for a first timer

This year, my daughter Elsie’s old enough to race the 3 Peaks – finally – and after her visiting the race every year since birth, and marshalling on top of Ingleborough in 2023, it’s her turn…. so we spent a bit of time getting her familiarised with some parts of the course.

Some bits are only accessible on race day, so a recce is about riding the bits you can.

We also locked the bikes up at Blea Moor and walked up the Whernside descent, part way, to look at some of the options and lines there. Our route’s here if you’re interested

A valuable use of time, and definitely better than trying a road ride in such grim weather. Warm, soggy, and crappy visability !
