A personal blog and pointer to all I find on the www about the 3 Peaks Cyclocross

Phil Haygarth’s 2024 vlog and race video

Phil’s 13th 3 Peaks was quite some achievement. The last man home, he’d had an incredible journey to get to race again in the 3 Peaks after a 7 year break. Phil’s ankle fusion operation a couple of years ago was meant to be the end of years of pain and limping, but was a trade-off with limited mobility, and he never expected to be doing an event like this again. But he progressed and made the decision in June to go for his 13th finish.

And being last man, he also managed to get a keg of beer, which I helped him to get rid of on Sunday evening – along with his sons Matt and Angus (the latter of whom finished too, for the third time)

A Haygarth family lens into the race, covering the start, Simon Fell climb (Phil POV), Cold Cotes, Whernside climb (Phil POV), Ribblehead, Penyghent climb (Phil POV) and Finish. Video from Jess, Katie Anne and Matt. Edit by Matt Haygarth – thanks Matt!

Phil’s Youtube channel is normally full of his ‘first’ sport – motorcycle trials – so let’s see how many views this one gets compared to those…!
