A personal blog and pointer to all I find on the www about the 3 Peaks Cyclocross

Record number of women to ride 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross

The rider list – for 2019 Confirmed riders list is her  SiEntries – 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross – and initial reaction is the just brilliant news that a record number of women riders will take the start line this year. The sport continues to grow for women and 78 will ride this fantastic event on 15th September.

Rider #1, the two-time winner Christina Wiejak (Team Jadan Weldtite, pictured) is met by some big names this year – including the young but very experienced Ffion James (Hope Factory) and former winner Very Appleyard, who riders her 8th event.

There will only be 5 junior riders in this year’s 3 Peaks, one of which is the female rider Kate Taylor ( Racing Chance Foundation).  Encouraging youngsters into this tough event has never been easy, and the rule that the riders need to be over 16 on race day (rather than a “junior”) excludes some.  The U23 riders total 28, with 6 women and 22 men.
